Betrayal, Murder and Greed is a book that you will not put down. I enjoyed the book. I will read again. It kept me on the edge of my seat while a foot chase is happening. Knowing the true meaning of what Bounty Hunting and a Bail Bondsmen do, really is fasinating. Mike and Pam tell their stories like you're right next to them. Funny parts also. Can not wait for book #2!! Good Job Guys!!!!I would recomend this book to anyone!

As an avid reader, I found this book so interesting especially since I usually read historical fiction and non-fiction. It was well written. I felt like I was right there during all the bounty hunting chase scenes. It was also impressive to learn so much about the Bail Bond Business. This book could easily be made into... a TV or mini-series. I would TIVO it! Thanks to the authors Pam and Mike for taking the time to write it since they have incredibly busy lives.

OK, I'll be honest, I haven't read a book since my 7 year stint in Pharmacy School! True story! No desire to, in fact the thought of it made me nauseous! But, then a friend of mine who shall remain nameless (Marcus :) ), told me about this book he was filming scenes from, and since it was local authors and sounded interesting I went and bought it! I looked at it for a few days, still not liking the thought of reading, yuk. Meanwhile I had somewhat gotten to know the authors Pam and Mike, just trivial chat on facebook, but I felt like I knew them somewhat when I began to read the book. I got off to a slow start, took me a few weeks to read first half, I work, A LOT, and have 2 kids.. But, once I got into that book, I could NOT put it down! I felt like I was going through every single scene with them the book was written so well! I read the entire second half in one shot! I literally laughed out loud at parts <my kids looked at me like I was nuts>, some parts made me so mad! And a few parts brought tears to my eyes, more than a few actually. The book brought to me a respect for Pam and Mike and what they go through, for this was not a book to them as it was to me, it's their LIFE! I was fascinated at all Pam went through to get to where she is today, She truly is a strong persevering woman, and I am in awe of her! Mike, amazed me with his ability to stay cool and keep his sense of humor even in instances most would curl up in the fetal position and cry. I found myself yelling out loud many times while reading it, amazed at the corruption that could go on in an industry most would think would be upstanding. And inspired by how Pam and Mike refused to give into that way of doing business and insisted on doing it the RIGHT WAY! I feel like I know these 2 people now, as they let me into their lives in this book. I feel like I could see and describe ever character and can picture them in my mind during every scene in it. Thank you Marcus for introducing me to this fabulous book and these fabulous people! I am dying to get to a book signing so I can talk to the authors, I have SO MANY questions about their lives and the details of their fascinating experiences, both good and bad. I will spread the word, it's a MUST READ people!

Betrayal, Murder, and Greed: The True Story of a Bounty Hunter and a Bail Bond Agent (Hardcover)
I thought Mr.Beakley (Darkside) book brought a real human feel to the plight of the bail bonds trade. As a private citizen I never really had an insight to the bail bond world. I appreciate the bounty hunter for returning those who should be back to court and jail ...furthering the safety of us the public. So thanks for doing your job Darkside. To top it off taking the time to write an entertaining book of how this system works!! Good to see that one can retain humor pursuing those who are looking not to get caught!!

WOW! WHAT A GREAT BOOK!, January 31, 2010
This is an "on the edge of your seat, can't put it down" book. An faced paced, amazing, thrilling and at times, horrific ride into the behind the scenes life of a bounty hunter and bail bond agent that most citizens have no clue of, like me! It's educating, terrifying, horrific and at times enlightening. The range of emotions felt while reading were unbelievable!
I am axiously awaiting the movie, it's THAT GOOD!
